With the arrival of Christmas Eve, most of us dive into the whirlwind of preparations, last-minute shopping, and anticipation. Tomáš Klus sees it differently, however. Christmas for him is associated with peace, family, and potato salad - without stress and unnecessary rush. We met him at a press conference for the Christmas concert at the O2 Arena, where in a brief interview he talked not only about the holidays, but also about what real luxury means to him, why he would without hesitation decline politics and billions, and what he believes is truly important in life today.

"I don't have gifts yet. We've only received orders so far."

Tomas Klus is one of those who don't needlessly complicate Christmas. "I haven't bought gifts yet. For now, we just got lists," he says with a laugh. But he prefers to leave packaging to others. "I wouldn't trust myself with that, it's really a nightmare."

Film Christmas? Three Veterans win

Unlike packing gifts, he has a clear view about Christmas movies. "Every year I watch Three Veterans. It's my favorite Czech fairy-tale movie," he admits enthusiastically. A tradition that reminds him of his childhood belongs to the ones he does not let interfere.

And what about Christmas music? At home, his wife decides. "My wife has a passion for Christmas parties with her friends, and there mainly Janek's Christmas album is listened to. So we listen to it too. And I like doing it, he's an excellent, famous colleague."

Luxury? The ability to be satisfied with what I have

When asked what luxury means to him, he answers without thinking: "The ability to be satisfied with what I have." No chasing success, no unnecessary things - for Tomáš Klus, the key to luxury is peace and satisfaction. And it seems that in this, he is much richer than many others.

Billions? Politics? No. I want to be happy.

When it comes to issues of power and money, Klus is clear: "Neither. I want to be a happy person." The offer of a billion-dollar business or a political role would be declined without hesitation.

The best tradition? Potato salad

Forget about pouring lead, slicing apples, or other Christmas rituals. For the Klus family, there's one clear tradition that triumphs over all others each year - potato salad. Regardless of what's going around, this dish is the symbol of Christmas for Tomáš Klus, which he adores.

"This is the best tradition that has ever been created. The person who came up with it deserves not only the Nobel Prize but practically all the awards – including music or the Golden Ball,"

he says with typical detachment. For him, potato salad is not just a side dish to carp, but a honest Christmas base, without which the holidays would simply not be complete.

A tip for a gift? Stay at home and cuddle

When it comes to Christmas gifts, Tomáš Klus doesn't look for any complicated advice. According to him, there's no need to walk around shops or spend hours on e-shops. The best gifts can't be wrapped or placed under the Christmas tree. "Stay home and cuddle. That's the best gift," he smiles. The time spent together, peace, and ordinary closeness are according to him much more valuable than anything material - and that's where he sees the true essence of Christmas.
