The Russian oil industry faces tough times

The United States has imposed sanctions against Russian oil companies. The White House chief Donald Trump initially postponed new sanctions against Russia in hopes of persuading Putin to make peace with Ukraine even without them. Today there will be the final farewell to Dana Drábová, who was involved in municipal politics or in supporting Ukraine after being attacked by Russia in February 2022. But above all, she stood for more than a quarter of a century at the head of the State Office for Nuclear Safety.

The latest US sanctions are aimed not only at Rosneft and Lukoil, but also at dozens of their subsidiary companies.

Vaccines against coronavirus can help cancer patients

The most common vaccines against covid-19 can contribute to the strengthening of the immune system in some patients with cancer, according to preliminary research published in the Nature journal on Wednesday. People with advanced lung or skin cancer, who were injected with the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within 100 days of starting treatment, reportedly lived significantly longer. Scientists from the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and from the University of Florida stated that the mRNA molecule, which drives these specific vaccines, apparently helps the immune system better react to the most modern cancer treatment, reported by the agency AP.
