Two express trains collided in eastern Slovakia on Monday, injuring dozens of passengers, two of whom are in critical condition. The collision took place near the city of Rožňava on Monday shortly after 10 a.m., according to Slovak Railways.
The Slovak police said that there were about 80 passengers on the train according to estimates, but did not immediately provide any further details. According to AP, Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok announced that two of the injured are in critical condition, while other injuries are not serious. Images of the collision showed that the front part of one locomotive is heavily damaged, while the other train derailed.
