With the advent season, even for Eva Salvatore Burešová, the time of concerts, plans, and holiday traditions is kicking off - but definitely without stress. We met her at a press conference for the Christmas concert at the O2 Arena, where she will also perform this year. In the interview, she talked about the films that are a must in their home at Christmas, and about what luxury means to her. She openly expressed her opinion on the pressure of the public on celebrities and revealed why she doesn't feel the need to remain silent – even when it's not to everyone's taste.
With the advent of Advent, most people are busy - but Eva Salvatore Burešová deals with it in her own way. She hasn't bought gifts yet, but knows exactly what to get. She speaks honestly about the holidays, openly about work, and answers public questions without sugar-coating.
Eva never hid the fact that keeping silent for the image simply isn't her style. "I react to everything. I'm not the type of person who stays silent just to have a good image."
For some, it's a problem. For others, a reason to trust her.
"I believe that no topic I've ever discussed was controversial. It rather needed to be addressed."
She often speaks about rights, children, nonsense that irritates her. And even though some might think that she speaks too much, she sees it differently:
"I'm not afraid to speak. And I don't want to remain silent."
And it was precisely this attitude that recently got her into the discussion around this year's Slavík Awards 2025. After coming fourth, she posted a comment on Instagram, emphasizing that music has never been a competition for her.
According to her, the celebratory evening partly turned into a parade of ego-speeches, PR, and announcements of upcoming concerts — instead of honoring the music itself. Some applauded her for her courage, others accused her of "ingratitude" or envy. But Eva remained calm. She has already said it. Loudly, clearly, and without the need to defend herself.
"I have never commented on politics and never will," she says. She clearly stipulates that everyone has the right to an opinion, but also has the right to form it himself. "I am not the type of person who wants to influence others with those opinions."
And when she discusses this, she recalls one thing: "This is a democracy. Everyone has the right to vote for whoever they want. Politics has never been my topic."
"I haven't bought gifts, I just have them photographed on my phone, so I know what to buy," Eva says with a smile. But she also keeps her peace before Christmas in other ways - she practically delegates. "I wouldn't trust myself to wrap gifts, I'm not good at it. Premek is excellent at it, so he does the wrapping."
One cannot imagine Christmas without movies - especially those that everyone knows. "Home Alone, Cinderella, Grinch, and Love Actually. These are musts every year." For Eva, Christmas isn't about perfection, but about feeling. And she creates it through traditions and moments with her family.
Everyone has that one Christmas song that "gets" them. For Eva, it's clear: "Driving home for Christmas, that's Chris Rea."
When asked what luxury means to her, she answers without pretense: "Having a place to live, having something to eat and being able to make coffee anytime. That's luxury." No branded handbags or winter holidays in the Maldives. For Eva, what's important is the ordinary, which we often take for granted.
"Tickets to the theatre, tickets to concerts." That's her gift tip. "I think a lot has changed in that people now often look at things only through their phones and don't want to mingle much anymore. That's a pity."
Therefore, he calls: "Support your artists. Not just the famous ones, but also those who are starting out and need that support."
