Vladimir Putin may travel abroad next week for potentially key talks with US President Donald Trump, despite an arrest warrant being issued for the Russian leader by the International Criminal Court.
The court has been investigating Putin based on an arrest warrant from March 2023 for his alleged involvement in the abduction of children from Ukraine during the conflict caused by Moscow's invasion of the neighboring country. The court, based in The Hague, Netherlands, relies on other countries to arrest suspects and this cooperation has often been ineffective in history. Putin knows this and has travelled abroad since the warrant was issued, including to ICC member state Mongolia. He also travelled to China and North Korea, which are not members of the court, reported AP.
