Trump's Administration announced that it was freezing more than 2 billion dollars from federal funds for Harvard University, several hours after this elite university rejected the list of demands from the White House.
Last week, the White House sent Harvard a list of demands that it believes are intended to combat antisemitism in academia. They included changes in its management, admissions, and selection procedures. Harvard declined these requests on Monday, stating that the White House is trying to "control" its community. This is the first major American university to resist Trump’s administrative pressure and change its policies. The extensive changes the White House demanded would alter its functioning and leave much of the control to the government.
