Elon Musk continues to build an alternative information ecosystem that suits his own views. He has currently launched Grokipedia, which is a version of the well-known Wikipedia created by artificial intelligence. In the Czech Republic, an unusually large amount of snow fell at the end of October, with snow cover reaching tens of centimeters across the mountains.
On Monday, Elon Musk launched Grokipedia, his own version of Wikipedia. The richest man in the world is thus trying to create an alternative information and media ecosystem that would correspond to his views. The articles are written by Musk's artificial intelligence Grok and the website imitates Wikipedia's minimalist style, page structure, and link style. However, Grokipedia is still much smaller. It only contains just over 800,000 articles compared to more than 7 million articles on Wikipedia.
While anyone can write and edit articles on Wikipedia, it's not clear how much people contribute to articles on Grokipedia. Users have the option to send feedback if they believe they have caught an error, CNN reported.
In higher altitudes in the Czech territory, an unusually high amount of snow fell relative to the usual October conditions. On the Šumava's Great Maple, the snow cover even rose to 48 cm. In the Jeseníky mountains, they even prepared the first track for cross-country skiers, but mountain service has not seen skiers yet.
"At least 20 cm lies in the mountains in the Czech Republic on average once every three years in October. However, for the snow to lie simultaneously in Šumava, the Giant Mountains and the Jeseníky Mountains, this is harder to find in our archives. The last time this happened was in 2009," the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute said according to ČTK.
The Dutch election for all 150 seats in the lower house of parliament is expected to be a close race between the surprise winner of the last election, the populist and anti-Islamic Party for Freedom of Geert Wilders, and the center-left bloc of the Labour Party and Green Left.
The lawyer and longtime politician Wilders is defending his victory from the previous elections, however his coalition partners refused for him to sit in the prime minister's seat. According to surveys, he's closely followed by the coalition of Frans Timmermans, a former soldier and EU Commissioner, reported by the agency AP.
At least 33 Palestinians were killed in a wave of Israeli strikes in Gaza on Tuesday evening. Israel carried out the strikes in response to Hamas allegedly breaking a ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States.
The Israeli Defense Minister accused Hamas of an attack in southern Gaza, in which an Israeli soldier was killed on Tuesday, and of violating the conditions for the return of the bodies of dead hostages. Hamas stated that it had "no connection" with the attack, insisting that it was committed to adhering to the ceasefire agreement. American President Donald Trump claimed that the truce was "not endangered", but added that Israel should "retaliate" when its soldiers became the target of an attack, reported by BBC.
