Weight loss is no longer just about exercise and caloric deficit. Recently, a lot of miraculous drugs promising visible changes without insane diets have appeared on the market. Drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro have become a cultural phenomenon, which also caught the attention of Czech celebrities. Who all tried losing weight with "ease" and how did a diabetes drug become a miracle in the field of weight loss?
Common shortcut or lazy cheating. That's what some people nickname this treatment. Obesity is a very sensitive topic in our society, and not always approached with the necessary empathy. This is also evidenced by the debate that arises around people who have decided to lose weight in this way. Famous personalities, who have been criticized for years for their appearance, figure, and health, now receive unsolicited comments that they are losing weight dishonestly and choosing the "easier" path. A big phenomenon from these drugs arose after the incredible transformations of foreign celebrities. For example, Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Trainor, or billionaire Elon Musk tried to lose excess kilos in this way. It's no wonder, then, that these drugs have aroused great interest even in our country.
"No, I don't look like I did 10 years ago. I worked with a dietitian, made huge lifestyle changes, started working out with a trainer and yes, after my second pregnancy, I used scientific knowledge and support (praise to Mounjaru!). And I'm very glad I did, because I feel great."
The famous singer Meghan Trainor shared on her Instagram.
Many other well-known figures have expressed very similar views on these medications. Their transformations and praise have boosted its growing popularity at an incredible speed.
"People don't understand that being fat is not a choice. It's something that your body is not handling well and weight loss drugs will help with that. The difference is in what the drug really does for you, and that is: I don't feel like I'm on a diet. I feel like a normal person. I can go out for dinner with friends and don't have to eat every piece of bread on the table, and then not have ice cream after dinner."
The Broadway icon Harvey Fiersten revealed this to People magazine.
At the same time, it also opens up the clear stigmatization of people suffering from obesity and misunderstanding from the rest of the world.
She is a well-known and for some quite controversial influencer. This has long been the face of Czech social networks Denisa Kouřílková. She also decided to make a huge change with the help of a Mounjar injection. Unlike many celebrities who deny their extreme transformations and do not want to be associated with the drug, Denny documents the whole journey on her Youtube channel. Where, among other things, she talks about the mental aspect of such weight loss and about reactions from her surroundings. In November, she posted a video where she stated that she managed to lose twenty-one kilograms in this style. In the videos, she also states that Mounjar is not a magic potion and it requires work from your side as well.
"You have to count calories, drink lots of water, move around, and eat enough protein."
She illuminated in her youtube video.
A fairy tale, but not for everyone. While some are praising, the rest rather suffered through their experience.
"I couldn't eat without feeling sick. Sometimes I couldn't eat at all. My body didn't like it."
Bonnie Chapman confided to E!News.
She was and is not the only one, however, who had a negative reaction to these weight loss drugs. The younger sister of famous model Kate Moss also experienced a terrifying event.
"I literally had a seizure from how dehydrated I was, which honestly was the scariest thing that ever happened to me in my life,"
She mentioned in one of the episodes of her podcast Dream on and added that it was one of her worst decisions.
