Prefer America without him. We asked Czech celebrities what they think of Trump.
At the 59th International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, we also delved into politics in talks with well-known Czech personalities. While some held back their responses, others were not afraid to express their clearly defined stance.
We encountered a number of popular faces at the red carpet during the opening ceremony. And we surprised many with a question aiming at the American President Donald Trump, who is struggling with one scandal after another.
Which celebrities do not favor him? And is there someone who supports him?
1. Filip Vaněk
One of the most famous Czech stylists, who dresses for example the host Leoš Mareš, clearly indicated in his answer on which side he stands.
"I loved New York and America in the 90s and after 2000. The last time I was in New York was when covid started and I don't need to go there anymore."

2. Jakub Kotek
The moderator and participant with the nickname "Koťák" from the last series of the reality show Survivor answered somewhat diplomatically, as can be expected from a moderator.
"I've learned not to have an opinion on everything. After I returned from the island, I stopped following politics. It consumes a lot of my time, energy, and happiness. Many people would say that Trump is a madman. I like to study these topics a bit more, I think it's not that simple."

3. Milan Peroutka
The beloved singer and actor is among those who were taken by surprise with the question. He thus kept his opinion about Donald Trump to himself.
"This is the kind of interview here in Karlovy Vary, right? Well, let's move on, I don't want to get political here now."

4. Martin Bartkovský
The well-known political commentator answered us quite frankly. We expected nothing less from Martin Bartkovský, who often publicly presents his political views.
"I like it in the Czech Republic and if I had to choose, I would probably prefer to live in America without Trump, because I'm afraid they wouldn't let me into America with Trump."
