Former British Prince Andrew sent messages to Epstein containing confidential information. King Charles III is deeply concerned about this, according to local media. Czech MEP Nikola Bartůšek has left the Patriots for Europe faction. She will now serve as an unaffiliated MEP.
British King Charles III is deeply concerned about the latest information in the case of convicted American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which is connected to the king's brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Similar concerns were expressed by Prince William and Princess Catherine. The king's statement is the latest reaction from the monarchy to the scandal involving former Prince Andrew. The king's brother was stripped of royal titles after the revelations of his relationships with Epstein, wrote the portal Ceskenoviny.cz.
Nikola Bartůšek has left the Patriots for Europe (PfE) faction and will now serve as an independent MEP. She sat in the faction alongside MEPs from ANO and another representative of the Přísaha movement, Antonín Staněk.
“As of last week, I am no longer a member of the Patriots for Europe group, our paths have diverged,"
She stated and added that she respects and will respect that these are internal matters of the group, so she has no further comment on it, the server Ceskenoviny.cz reported.
In the United States, a trial has begun focusing on the dangers of sexual exploitation of children on social networks. The attorney general and his team pretended to be children through social media accounts and then documented the arrival of sexual offers as well as the response from Meta, which owns the social networks Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Prosecutors claim that account algorithms and features lured and addicted young people to social networks while creating a "breeding ground" for predators targeting children, as reported by the agency AP.
Approximately 6,000 public school teachers in San Francisco began striking on Monday. It is the first such strike in nearly 50 years, wrote the AP agency. It comes after teachers and authorities failed to agree on higher wages and financial support for students with special needs. As a result, all 120 schools in the city, which are attended by around 50,000 students, have been closed, offering independent study.
The green ice that formed on the Lipno reservoir due to the high presence of cyanobacteria in the water was visible from space. This was confirmed by satellite images taken in December by a satellite, as reported by the website Ceskenoviny.cz.
The unusual color of the ice is attributed by scientists to an excess of phosphorus in the water and changes in the ecosystem related to climate warming. At the end of last year, the cyanobacteria biomass remained at the surface unusually long, from the fall until the reservoir froze in winter. This likely occurred due to a combination of calm weather, weak winds, and long durations of sunlight.
