My body is afraid of being trapped in a reality show again, admits presenter Jakub Kotek
Also walking the red carpet at this year's ceremonial opening of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival was host Jakub Kotek, who participated in the latest season of the popular reality show Survivor. And he wasn't alone - he was accompanied by his beautiful girlfriend Lucie Dušková, a finalist of Czech Miss 2016.
The voice of Jakub Kotek alias Koťák is well known to all listeners of Evropa 2 radio, where he has been hosting for many years. He is also the face of Nova or Óčko music television.
He recently launched his new show. However, he significantly expanded his fan base thanks to his participation in the harsh and currently very popular reality show Survivor, for which the production has been inviting representatives of the Czech and Slovak influencer scene for the latest seasons.
He doesn't want to exercise, he says his body needs a reward
Contestants there are pushed to the limits of their strength on a daily basis. And not just because of the often physically demanding competitions. Their unending frustration is primarily due to the very small amount of food. And so, after returning home, more than one of them quickly regained the weight they had lost.
"The brain has kind of a strange defensive mechanism because it fears that the body could be trapped in some kind of reality show once again. I've swollen up a bit, I don't feel like exercising much. But I still have to give some reward to the body for the sacrifices it made and for supporting me,"

He has bitcoin and invests in stocks and real estate
This year at KVIFF we were also interested in the attitudes of personalities towards cryptocurrencies and investments as such. In the media space, especially cryptocurrencies are receiving increasing attention. So, moderator Jakub Kotek could not avoid this question.
And as it soon turned out, he is no greenhorn in investing, although he calls himself among passive investors. However, he showed a solid overview of the currently most used investment titles and will certainly not be lost in the investment world.
"I have 0.0001 bitcoin, no more for now. I generally don't trust cryptocurrencies too much, because I'm not that knowledgeable about them. But I do trust Bitcoin as one of the few cryptocurrencies. I'm a passive investor, investing in ETFs (equity funds, note from the editor) and real estate. I don't have that much time to actively deal with it," Kotek explains.
He doesn't want to comment on politics
With the current geopolitical situation being long-term tense, we could not avoid this topic and the conversation came to the U.S. President Donald Trump.
Jakub somewhat surprisingly mentioned Survivor in this context.
"I learned not to have an opinion on everything. One of the things I did after I returned from the island is that I stopped following politics. Because it takes a lot of time, energy and life happiness from me. I don't like those simplified answers. A lot of people would say that Trump is crazy. I like to study these topics a little more. I think it's not that simple."
