Massive attack on western Ukraine also affects US operations, questions efforts for peace

Russia carried out an attack on western Ukraine with drones and rockets at night, according to official data on Thursday, hitting targets including a US electronics manufacturing plant and injecting further uncertainty into efforts to end the three-year war led by the United States. The aerial attack on a part of Ukraine that has largely not experienced such targeted strikes was one of the largest Russian attacks this year and came at a time when Moscow is raising objections to key aspects of proposals that could end the fighting.

American President Donald Trump discussed the war with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last week before receiving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European representatives in the White House on Monday, reported AP.

In the UK, an advertisement for shower gel was banned due to racial reasons

British regulatory authorities have banned a television commercial for Sanex shower gel after deciding that "it could be interpreted as saying that white skin is better than black". The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) acted after receiving complaints about the advertisement from two people, "who believed that the advertisement reinforced negative stereotypes about people with darker skin tones," the office said according to CNN in a statement on Wednesday. The spot, which aired in June, featured a black model whose skin is covered with red scratches, and another model covered with cracked material that looks like dirt.

Czech Post will not accept packages to the USA due to Trump's tariffs

"These shipments will also require the proper completion of a postal customs declaration, with an emphasis on the correct and complete description of the contents and the actual value in the currency of the destination country, ie in US dollars. Even with the correct and complete filling of the customs declaration, there may be an extension of customs proceedings at the entrance to the USA, which means longer delivery times,"
