As part of its latest efforts to discourage migrants from crossing the English Channel on small boats, the government has decided that people who advertise fake passports or human smuggling services on social networks face up to five years in prison. Anyone caught creating online materials intended to violate British immigration laws will face prison and a hefty fine.
Interior Minister Yvette Cooper said the aim is to stop "shameful tactics on social networks" used by smuggling gangs. Aiding illegal immigration into the United Kingdom is already a criminal offense, but officials believe that a new criminal offense, currently going through parliament, will give police and prosecutors greater powers to break up gangs that send migrants on dangerous journeys across one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, the agency AP reported.
Compared to last year, students in Czech student cities must prepare for a rise in rents. While living in a separate room, even in a shared apartment will get more expensive, sharing with a larger number of people will turn out cheaper.
"The most expensive are the rents of studio apartments, small independent flats and multiple-room flats for shared living in Prague and Brno. The cheapest then in Ostrava, Opava and Ústí nad Labem. For example, in Brno or Hradec Králové, students can save approximately 4000 CZK by renting a room in an apartment shared with other students, compared to renting a studio apartment,"
