Against Iran, which has practically blocked the Strait of Hormuz, an initiative by American President Donald Trump has emerged. Its goal is to safely escort ships passing through this area. Sunday was the warmest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching up to 29 degrees Celsius in two places in the Czech Republic. Meteorologists also expect warm weather today, with afternoon temperatures predicted to be between 22 and 27 degrees.
Starting today, the United States will begin escorting ships stranded in the Persian Gulf due to the war with Iran, as reported by Ceskenoviny.cz. This was announced by American President Donald Trump on his social network Truth Social.
“For the good of Iran, the Middle East, and the United States, we have told these countries that we will safely escort their ships out of these restricted waters so they can freely conduct their business,"
wrote Trump.
He also noted that these ships do not want to return to the area until the situation is safe again.
Czechia experienced the hottest day of the year so far on Sunday, as the temperature reached 29 degrees Celsius in Plzeň-Bolevec and Tuháň in the Mělník region. In both places, the previous record from 2001 was broken. Stations in Řež near Prague, Plzeň Mikulce, and Dobřany near Plzeň also approached 29 degrees, simultaneously surpassing the previous records for May 3rd, reported the portal Ceskenoviny.cz.
Police in the eastern region of Austria have arrested a 39-year-old suspect who may have been responsible for rat poison appearing in some jars of HiPP baby food. HiPP, after discovering the case last month, withdrew some of its baby food jars from the market in Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, welcomed the arrest.
