The probable targets of the thwarted attack in Washington, which took place on Saturday, were US President Donald Trump and members of his cabinet. "If you read his manifesto, he hates Christians, there's no doubt about it," Trump stated regarding this. An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale has struck parts of northern Japan. No casualties have been reported yet.

American President Describes Motive for Saturday's Attack

The family of the suspect in Saturday's shooting in Washington had already alerted police in Connecticut to his behavior before the attack at the media gala, stated U.S. President Donald Trump. The White House chief described the suspect in an interview with Fox News as an apparently very disturbed person who wrote an anti-Christian manifesto. The Secret Service evacuated the president and other government members after the armed man started shooting at the hotel where the gala dinner was taking place. The suspect, teacher and game developer Cole Tomas Allen, was detained at the scene, reported the portal Ceskenoviny.cz.

Early Monday morning, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake shook part of northern Japan. However, no damages or casualties were reported. The Japan Meteorological Agency did not issue any tsunami warnings. The earthquake occurred 18 kilometers west of the small town of Sarabetsu on Japan's northernmost island, Hokkaido, at a depth of 81 kilometers. A week ago, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake prompted Japan to issue a warning of a slightly higher risk of a potential major earthquake for the northeastern coastal areas of the country, wrote the agency AP.
