According to Ukrainian President Zelensky, the end of the Russian war against Ukraine, lasting more than three and a half years, is important for the American leadership to remain effective. Programs aimed at preventing violence against women are usually allocated only a fraction of the total global aid. That's why almost every third woman in the world has experienced violence or sexual violence from a partner during her lifetime, as stated by the World Health Organization.
Only the United States and President Donald Trump have enough power to stop the war in Ukraine. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.
"The most important thing to stop the bloodshed and achieve lasting peace is to work with our partners and for American leadership to remain effective and strong,"
Zelensky said. For Ukraine, it is also important for Turkey to be prepared to provide the "necessary platform" for negotiations with Russia, wrote Ceskenoviny.cz.
Nearly every third woman, a total of about 840 million worldwide, has experienced violence or sexual violence from a partner in her lifetime, the World Health Organization reported in its new report. 316 million women and girls aged 15 and older were exposed to this violence in the past year, Al Jazeera informed. The document states that violence against women remains a "deeply neglected area" and that efforts to address this problem are "critically underfunded". Women and girls from conflict zones are particularly at risk. The report analyzed data from 168 countries collected between 2000 and 2023.
