Czech Television has narrowed the number of candidates vying for the post of new general director to five. The successful candidate must obtain at least ten votes, and 17 council members will vote today. Israel and Iran have been attacking each other for the fifth day. The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated in this regard that the battle with the Zionists is beginning, thus publicly declaring the official start of the war.
Public Czech Television will decide on the new management
The Board of Czech Television will be electing a new Director General today. They will replace Jan Souček, who was dismissed by the board in May. The final selection round last week included the Director of ČT program, Milan Fridrich, Business Director of ČT Hynek Chudárek, former head of the Ostrava studio of ČT Miroslav Karas, Executive Director of ČT Sport Jiří Ponikelský and the chairwoman of the supervisory board of CNC Libuše Šmuclerová. The successful candidate must win at least ten votes in the election, where 17 councilors will vote. If no one is successful in the election, it will be repeated in 14 days. The board must elect the new director within three months.
Khamenei: "The battle begins"
The Iranian armed forces have announced that they will soon attack Israel and have called on the inhabitants of the major cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv to evacuate. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also stated in a post on the X network:
"The battle begins in the name of the sublime Haydar."
Haydar is a name often used for Ali, whom Shiite Muslims consider the first Imam and the successor to the Prophet Muhammad, CNN wrote in this context.
The Iranian leader further wrote:
"We must forcefully respond to the terrorist Zionist regime. We will show no mercy to the Zionists."
Young Venetians Protest Against Jeff Bezos's Wedding
