No one older has ever managed to win in an individual event at the Olympics. Elana Meyers Taylor made Olympic history when she won in monobob at the age of 41. Petr Pavel is skeptical about hosting the Winter Olympics in the Czech Republic, especially due to the current budgetary issues of the country.

American Makes Olympic History

Elana Meyers Taylor has achieved numerous victories throughout her career, but an Olympic gold had still eluded her. However, the veteran did not give up on her dream at the age of 41 and added a unique record to the golden peak of her career.

No one older has won an individual event at the Olympics. Her victory in the monobob category broke the previous record held by the one-year-younger snowboarder Benjamin Karl from Australia. She also became the first mother to win an Olympic gold in an individual bobsled event, as reported by BBC.

Pavel is skeptical about the Olympics in the Czech Republic due to the country's budgetary issues

The Minister without Portfolio for Sport, Boris Šťastný (Motorists), has reignited the debate in the Czech Republic about the possibility of hosting the Olympic Games, which have never been held here. He discussed the Winter Games, with Prague last bidding to host them in 2016, but was quickly eliminated from the list of candidates.

"I believe that a country like the Czech Republic, which is currently facing budgetary issues, is neither organizationally nor financially capable of hosting the Olympic Games in the current situation,"

said Pavel according to ČTK.

Most Europeans and citizens from certain selected countries in other regions are entitled to visa-free entry, wrote the agency AP.

Paramount Continues to Battle Netflix Over Warner Bros

The battle for the best offer to acquire one of the most significant Hollywood studios continues. Warner Bros. Discovery wants to hear the "best and final offer" from Paramount to purchase the media company, opening a short window for negotiations, while simultaneously proceeding with the merger with Netflix and urging shareholders to reject Paramount's current hostile bid.

Warner Bros. Discovery, abbreviated as WBD, is valued in the tens of billions of dollars, and the company's board is trying to increase its price in every possible way. Who and how it will ultimately be sold to is secondary, reports CNN.

Brits Win Their First Gold on Snow

Great Britain has achieved an unexpected milestone in its sporting history. For the first time in over a century of participating in the Olympics, British athletes have won a medal in a snow-covered event. Charlotte Bankes and Huw Nightingale won the first gold medal on snow when they crossed the finish line first in the wild sport of mixed snowboard cross on Sunday.

In the past, British skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean claimed victory in 1984, but the event takes place on artificial ice. Snow rarely occurs in the British Isles due to the Gulf Stream, reported the AP agency.
