A ban on social media for children cannot be answered unequivocally, reveals Dara Rolins in an exclusive interview.
For several decades, she has been at the forefront of Slovak and Czech show business. Hardly anyone would guess her age. She is still very active and keeps herself fit. At the same time, she is a couple with the general director of the Czech football team, Pavel Nedvěd, whom she visits in Italy. Does she think the rich should pay higher taxes? Does she prefer Czech or Slovak audiences? And does she believe there are two or more genders?
We met with the exceptional singer with unmistakable energy on a special occasion. Together with her partner Pavel Nedvěd, through the Naše plíce foundation, she ceremoniously handed over a so-called cough assistant at the Bulovka University Hospital in Prague on the children's ward.
Does not take fans for granted
A few days ago, she released a new album along with a self-titled single, for which she filmed a music video, titled „Again and Again“.
In connection with the new album, she also wrote an emotional post to her fans, in which she confides that their long-term interest is not something she takes for granted.
„Always and everywhere, where you wait for me and come because of me, my most beautiful memories are written. I know I say it often, but I still feel like I want to repeat it again and again – thank you for being so faithful to me for so long. I don't take it for granted, I appreciate your returned energy, time, and emotions that you come to share with me. So I hope it will last for a long time,“ she wrote a few days ago on her Instagram.
Duet(s) with Daughter
The album contains a total of nine songs and two bonus remixes. In the song titled "Jak chcem ja" there is a special guest – her daughter Lola. Together they also filmed a music video for the song, which was released about three months ago. They performed a duet together last November at the Český slavík music awards. Last year, they also sang together in front of a sold-out Slovak stadium, Ondrej Nepela, twice during the grand concerts titled "Dara doma". The capacity of the stadium is approximately ten thousand seats.
Still, Dara reveals in the interview that her daughter does not intend to follow in her footsteps. Lola confirmed this herself in an interview for Markíza.
"I will never be a singer. But if my mom decides to do another concert like that, I'll be very happy to support her. Maybe even on stage again," she stated.
Ban on social media for children - yes or no?
There is no straightforward answer to this. So yes, certainly up to a certain age, but then no, because the world evolves, and so do children. They would surely give us a hard time.
Movies or music?
They go hand in hand, but probably music in my case.

Oh my god, what kind of question is that? Clearly Zuzka.
Soccer or hockey?
People would be very surprised if I said hockey. No, just soccer and nothing else.
Italy or the Czech Republic?
The Czech Republic, but Italy is right behind it.
Work or fun?
My work is fun, so again, they go hand in hand. It's hard to say, but work makes sense to me because it encompasses everything that fulfills me and makes me happy – which equals what I enjoy.
Existují dvě, nebo více pohlaví?
Myslím si, že existují dvě a další je na velmi dlouhou diskusi, která asi tady teď nemá prostor.
Peníze – utrácet, nebo investovat?
Investovat. To si myslím, že člověk pochopí až věkem, protože to utrácení, si myslím, že tak nějak k mladické nerozvážnosti patří.
Měli by bohatí platit vyšší daně – ano, nebo ne?
Myslím si, že každý by měl platit daně rozhodně. Ale jestli někdo vyšší nebo menší, no samozřejmě, že bohatší platí vyšší daně, je to logika věci. Ale nemyslím si, že by měl být někdo kritizován za to, že se mu daří, že prosperuje a že umí vydělat víc korun.
Should a man be a provider in a relationship – yes or no?
I can also be a great provider, so it's hard to say. I think equality rules the world today. There are moments and situations where definitely yes, and then again where no.
What's more important, muscles or a sense of humor?
A sense of humor, definitely.
Who's a better singer – you or your daughter?
I would love to say it's Lola, but I won't offend her when I say it's not, because Lola has entirely different ambitions.
Czech or Slovak audience?
I love my audience and I am a Czechoslovak product, so Czechoslovak audience.
Is charity for the rich a duty or a virtue?
One does not exclude the other.

How did you sleep?
Yesterday I came home around midnight, so I could have used a few more hours. Sleep is very important.
