The film festival in Karlovy Vary is not just about cinema - it is also somewhat of an unofficial fashion show. Famous people walk the red carpet in outfits from well-known designers, often priced well into seven figures. No wonder we've also met the most famous Czech stylist, Filip Vaněk, there.
Filip arrived without a husband, but was accompanied by a beautiful blonde. He is known for collaborating with a whole range of domestic celebrities, including for example the presenter Leoš Mareš, who is one of his long-term clients.
He also frequently and openly criticizes the chosen outfits of personalities at various events through his own show, Fashion Boss. He himself is fond of expensive clothing and luxurious jewelry, as indeed his outfit at this year's KVIFF confirmed.
Indeed, it came out to several million crowns - and the most likely most expensive item is a luxury diamond necklace. But even his black suit, which at first glance seems quite conservative, is a unique piece that cost a lot of money.
With partner Antonín Petršovský, they met twelve years ago in Prague. They entered into a registered partnership two years later, already in 2015.
And according to his words, they have their roles at home clearly divided.
"My husband is a financier. I buy clothes and jewelry, he handles cryptocurrencies and money. I don't know anything about it,"
she responds to the question of whether she invests in cryptocurrencies.
It seems that Filip Vaněk also has clarity in his political views - and specifically also in his attitude towards American president Donald Trump.
As he hinted during our conversation, he is the reason why he no longer needs to visit the United States.
"I loved New York and America in the 90s and after 2000. The last time I was in New York was when covid started. And I don't need to go there anymore,"
he comments on the current political situation in the USA.
Filip Vaněk is known for his love of luxury. Yet for him, it does not represent an interesting topic, since it is his everyday bread in clothes.
"It's been part of my life for so long that I don't even find it interesting,"
he says about luxury.
