Czech-Slovak Ball

While we look forward to new fashion trends every year, we have found true treasures in the archive, which seem to define the concept of "big evening" and it would be a eternal pity to forget them. We praised them, admired them and they inspire us to this day. Join us in looking at famous women who definitely know what suits them. In retrospect of the Czech-Slovak Ball 2025, we were captivated by Krystyna Pyszková, who was more deeply impressed in the history of the most prestigious event of the ball season?

She brought the same charm that captivated the world at Miss World 2023, where Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech-Polish borderlands triumphed, to last year's ball in the Municipal House. Her yellow dress was not only striking in color, but also in its tasteful cut. It highlighted the visual charisma of the model, and it was our favorite of the 2025 season.

One of the strongest moments in the history of the ball remains the year 2015 and the model Andrea Verešová, who in a royal blue robe from Slovak designer Jana Pištejová set the standard for absolute elegance. The golden embroidery at the waist and the richly layered chiffon skirt created a look that has not lost its majesty even after a decade. If someone were to wear such a dress this year, we would be just as thrilled as we were eleven years ago. But who else have we not forgotten to this day?

Fairytale and Deep Necklines

A year later, singer Celeste Buckingham brought a dreamy tenderness into the hall. Her powder-pink robe with an asymmetric cut on one shoulder was adorned with dozens of expressive flowers, making her an unmistakable princess of the evening. In a similarly romantic spirit, model and influencer Natálie Kotková shined in 2017, whose white lace and transparent bodice were stunning. She then resembled a fairy from a fairy tale. The courage to complement the model with a stylish camera added a welcome personal touch to the whole outfit. But we, who remember her career as an influencer, suspect that she might just have been filming a vlog... However, she deserves praise for perfectly matching the camera with her dresses!

The year 2017 was exceptionally rich in unforgettable moments. While the presenter of the popular show Bachelor Czech Republic Zorka Hejdová showed off the power of silk minimalism in champagne color, where the main role was played by an exposed back and precise cut, model Gabriela Dvořáková,  a former wife of the Golden Nightingale Václav Noid Bárta, went the way of futuristic glamour. Her liquid metallic robe with a high gloss gave the evening a global flair and she could easily wear it for Hollywood events. Besides, it fitted her perfectly in the cleavage area, it didn't look vulgar, but it was sexy as hell. In the same edition, we were also enchanted by the presenter and influencer Gabriela Lašková, who opted for black elegance with a neckline complemented by a brilliantly selected necklace. She proved that black is a safe bet and if you choose a beautiful cut, it doesn't matter that the dress is simple and lacks decoration. The modern concept of fashion was then underlined by Jitka Nováčková, when she pulled up an original combination of a black top and a skirt with abstract patterns. The kind of outfit she could easily wear this year and it would still have an incredible flair.

Ribbon, well done

The year 2018 also left an unforgettable mark thanks to the influencer and Miss Nikol Švantnerová, who really shone in the company of Czech football back Patrik Dressler. Her dress in liquid gold colour with a high slit paired with Patrik's flawless tuxedo created the most harmonious pair of the season. The 2019 vintage then belonged to charismatic duos. Dejdars embodied traditional charm and nobility, while the singer Monika Bagárová and the fighter Makhmud Muradov brought to the Municipal House outfits that matched perfectly. Monika then in the flitrovan dress with original leggings proved that sparkly elements really suit her.

The golden era before the pandemic was rounded off in 2019 by presenter Inna Puhajková as a mysterious goddess in a dress studded with crystals and presenter Gabriela Partyšová, who opted for dramatic lace in the spirit of "dark glamour". The whole retrospect was then crowned in 2020 by influencer Dominika Myslivcová, who wore a rich red robe with a monumental train and a striking bow around her neck ruled the dance floor and marked the end of a period when fashion at the Czech-Slovak ball was reaching its peaks. By the way, this bow was a real treasure. But when Dominika came to the Ball as Brno with a bow in the cleavage this year, it was no longer such a glory and her robe, also due to the chosen velvet, looked like a Christmas party costume. Myslivcová is a beautiful woman, but recently it seems that she is holding back a bit. It's a big pity, there used to be times when she was the star of the red carpet. But perhaps she will surprise us this year.

What is worn at balls this year?

Each of these ladies showed that the balance between strict protocol and personal creativity is the most beautiful discipline. The next edition awaits us in just a few days. And what will the ladies wear? This season sweeps the dust from the archives and is not afraid to experiment with materials that we would have previously looked for in sci-fi films. If you are also heading to the dance floor, get inspired by the trends that define the year 2026. Whether our famous people are inspired by them, we will have to wait a while longer.

Return to Old Hollywood

The classic is in great demand this year. Designers are returning to the silhouettes that silver screen stars loved. Heavy satins, silks and luxurious velvets dominate, giving the wearer a touch of aristocracy. This year's indispensable accessories are long gloves over the elbows and dramatic trains, which add nobility to every step.

Liquid metal effect and futurism

The futuristic glamour we used to see only sporadically has become topic number one. The hit are robes in shades of silver, titanium or rose gold, which thanks to modern weaving technologies look like a "second skin" made of liquid metal. Also often appearing are details created using 3D printing or laser-cut patterns, which replace traditional lace.

Sustainable luxury

In 2026, fashion is not just about appearance, but also about the story and origin of the clothes. More and more ladies choose robes made from recycled luxury fibers, which are indistinguishable from natural silk. A big trend is also "re-wear" - wearing a modified archival model, which is now considered a manifestation of the highest taste and environmental responsibility. Would our celebrities bet on that this year too?

Monochromatic style

While black remains a safe bet, this year's fashion is likely to be dominated by rich, deep shades. Emerald green, ruby red and midnight blue give the models unprecedented depth. The trend is also complete monochromatic styling, where shoes, purse, and jewelry match the exact same shade as the dress itself.

Utilise men's wardrobes

The boundaries between women's and men's evening fashion are further blurring in 2026. We increasingly see women in perfectly tailored tuxedos with trains or lace details. Men, on the other hand, are leaving the austere black and experimenting with embroidery, brocade jackets, and bold brooches, replacing the classic bow ties.
