Trump lobbied at Amazon not to start showing the increase in goods prices prompted by his tariffs

The White House aggressively turned against Amazon and President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning telephoned its founder Jeff Bezos after the company considered showing an increase in the price of some items on its website caused by tariffs.

Trump later stated that it was a "good phone call". If Amazon took this step, it could directly illustrate to American consumers how Trump's tariffs affect the price of goods. Trump imposed a 145% tariff on imports from China and a 10% minimum tax on all other countries, reported CNN.

A Chinese spy has been exposed in Germany, he worked for an AfD politician

The man, who worked for a prominent German far-right lawmaker in the European Parliament, has been accused of espionage for China for more than four years. The federal prosecutor's office accused Tien Kua of working for the Chinese intelligence service and repeatedly handing over information about proceedings and decisions in the European Parliament from September 2019 to April 2024, when he was arrested.

He allegedly also spied on Chinese dissidents in Germany. Guo, a German citizen, remains in custody. The federal prosecutor identified him as Tien G., in accordance with the country's personal data protection rules. He had previously been identified by his former boss, far-right lawmaker Maximilian Krah. Krah did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Tuesday. The federal prosecutor claims that Guo acquired more than 500 documents for the Chinese intelligence service, which had been his employer since 2002, including those that the EU Parliament described as particularly sensitive, reported the agency AP.
