Protests against Fico's rapprochement with Russia took place in Slovakia
On Tuesday, thousands of demonstrations took place all over Slovakia as part of a mass protest against the economic and pro-Russian policies of Prime Minister Robert Fico. Demonstrations took place in 16 major cities, including the capital Bratislava. The latest wave of protests was sparked by Fico's trip to China, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin for the third time since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The austerity measures package recently approved by the government further angered the protesters.
The government claims that the measures are necessary to reduce the budget deficit, which last year was 5.3% of GDP and was the second highest among countries using the common European currency. The deficit is expected to exceed 5% this year, which is more than the 3% limit required by the European Union, noted the agency AP.

Musk's Starlink outage affected thousands of people including warring Ukrainians
A short global outage of Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service on Monday affected tens of thousands of people, including the Ukrainian armed forces across the entire frontline. More than 37,000 users in the US experienced problems with the internet service. Within an hour, this number had dropped to several hundred.
The internet service of SpaceX, owned by Musk, stopped working on the "entire front line in Ukraine" around 7:30 Kyiv time, Major Robert "Magyar" Brovdi, the commander of the Ukrainian unmanned systems, said on Telegram. By 8:00 the service was gradually being restored, CNN reported.
