I want America without Donald Trump. I don't need to be surrounded by gold," says actress Jana Plodková
On the red carpet at this year's KVIFF, we also caught popular actress Jana Plodkova, who was wearing a dress by fashion designer Zuzana Kubíčková. How does she perceive the first year without "Barťák"? What about her and luxury? And what all currently awaits her in her professional life?
You may know her from television screens, but also from the theater. She has long been performing in the Brno HaTheatre and the Prague Theatre on the Balustrade. However, she also appears on other theater stages.
She is the holder of the Czech Lion for female acting performance in the main role in the film Protector and in 2016 she participated in the television dance competition Stardance.
Bartošek's festival is forever now
The first year without the former president of the festival, Jiří Bartoška, is perceived positively by Jana Plodková.
"I am immensely looking forward to this evening because it is a tribute to Jiří Bartoška. And what is extremely important to me is that, even though Jiří is not physically among us, it is his festival - and will always be,"
says the well-known actress.
Luxury? She reportedly doesn't feel it
Many acting personalities are known to enjoy luxury. This is particularly true during the Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, when our domestic acting stars are royally taken care of by the organizers.
Actress Jana Plodková sees it a little differently though.
"I don't feel any luxury, I only feel it in the care that is provided to me within the L Beauty Lounge and from my friends who take care of me like this and I consider that luxury. But otherwise I wouldn't evaluate it like, that I would indulge here in the most expensive hotels and be surrounded by gold,”
she claims.
She's overworked
The actress certainly doesn't lack for television roles, as she appears in several series.
As she admits, each of the roles taught her something new.
"I have a beautiful series running for Czech television. Then the sequels to the Extraordinary Cases of Marty will be filmed again. Another year of Murders in the county. Any role that was in front of the camera taught me to start thinking about the job differently,"
she revealed.
