The invasion of Gaza City required the call-up of tens of thousands of reservists

In the initial stages of the massive attack on Gaza, Israel is calling up tens of thousands of reservists to take part in the upcoming military operation. The capture and occupation of the largest city in northern Gaza, which according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is one of Hamas' last strongholds, will require the army to call up an additional 60,000 reserve soldiers and extend the service of another 20,000 soldiers.

These plans have provoked further criticism both internationally and domestically due to fears that the spirally growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza will worsen further, and that the lives of the remaining hostages will be further threatened as a result of the expanded military operation, reported CNN.

Bolsonaro wanted to flee Brazil

The Brazilian federal police said that reports found in the phone of former president Jair Bolsonaro show that he wanted to flee to Argentina and ask for political asylum, as shown in documents published on Wednesday by the agency Associated Press. Bolsonaro is currently awaiting a decision from the Supreme Court in connection with an alleged coup attempt and on Wednesday learned that he could face another case, as the police formally accused him and one of his sons, Eduardo Bolsonaro, of obstructing justice.

In the 170-page report, it is stated that Bolsonaro has drafted a request for political asylum for the government of Argentine President Javier Milei from February 10, 2024. He saved the document two days after the authorities searched his home and office as part of the investigation of an alleged conspiracy to overthrow.
