Artificial intelligence is an "unstoppable force" being weaponized in ways that only partially differ from traditional warfare, warned the head of the UK's cyber espionage service on Wednesday. Anne Keast-Butler, the director of the communications intelligence agency GCHQ, stated that Britain and its allies find themselves "in the space between peace and war," as Russia increases its "daily hybrid activities" against the West, even though the number of Russian casualties in Ukraine nears 500,000.
She stated that the West risks losing in a cyber conflict with Russia and other adversaries if citizens, companies, and governments do not take cybersecurity much more seriously. "I have worked in national security for thirty years, and the risk of misjudging the situation is as high as I have ever experienced," said Keast-Butler in a speech at the World War II codebreaking center near London, according to AP.
On one-fifth of the stations where temperatures are measured, records were broken on Wednesday. The highest temperature was measured in Strážnice in South Moravia at 31.9 degrees Celsius. Global automobile manufacturers face a significant turning point as American, European, and Japanese brands lose ground to Chinese competitors, who are setting the pace not only in the field of electric vehicles but also in batteries, design, and software. BBC visited manufacturing plants in Beijing and Hefei as part of the Auto China 2026 exhibition, the largest auto show in the world, and found that the level of automation and the speed of software development are astonishing, causing foreign brands, which once dominated the Chinese market, to struggle to keep up.
