Europe and the United States have more important things to do than waste time with tariff threats, declared French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday after U.S. President Donald Trump announced an increase in tariffs on European vehicles. Trump stated on Friday that he would raise tariffs on passenger and commercial vehicles from the European Union to 25% this week, which could further harm the global economy already dealing with the aftermath of the Middle East conflict.
„Especially in the current geopolitical situation, allies like the United States and the European Union have much more important things to focus on than provoking threats of destabilization,“ Macron said to journalists in Armenia, where he is on a state visit, according to AP.
