In Hundreds of Towns and Cities in the Czech Republic, Protests Took Place
Nationwide demonstrations followed a previous event in Prague, where 90,000 people gathered to support President Petr Pavel in his dispute with the government and especially with the party Motorists Themselves. At another demonstration organized by the Million Moments for Democracy association, people from all over the country gathered. Meetings took place in about 400 municipalities. Thousands of people gathered in Ostrava, Brno, and other regional cities. In Ostrava, there was a minor scuffle with opponents, reported ČTK.
Navalny was poisoned by frog toxin
Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned by the Kremlin with a rare and deadly toxin found in the skin of poisonous frogs, five European countries reported on Saturday according to the AP. The foreign ministries of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands stated that analysis of samples taken from Navalny's body in European laboratories "unequivocally confirmed the presence of epibatidine." The neurotoxin secreted by frogs in South America does not occur naturally in Russia, they noted.
In a joint statement, it is stated: "Russia had the means, motive, and opportunity to administer this poison." The five countries stated that they will report Russia to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons for violating the Chemical Weapons Convention. The organization has not yet commented on this.
