The British government announced on Monday that in response to Moscow's decision to expel a British diplomat last month due to allegations of espionage, it has revoked accreditation to a Russian diplomat. The Foreign Office according to the AP agency stated that it summoned the Russian ambassador Andrei Kelin to condemn the "unprovoked and unsubstantiated decision of Russia" against the staff of the British embassy.
Last month, Moscow ordered a British embassy employee to leave the country within two weeks after the Federal Security Service, known by the Russian acronym FSB, accused the diplomat of working for British intelligence. However, it did not provide any evidence.
